Containers Everywhere - focusing on Microsoft Azure container options
Welcome to Nortal's expert insights on developing containerized applications in Azure – both burgers and refreshments included!
Tuesday, June 6th, 17:00-19:30
@ Crazytown, Learning Cafe
Kauppakatu 39, 40100 Jyväskylä
As the mainstream architectural style has shifted from monolith to distributed architectures, containers have become a de facto standard for application delivery in many organizations.
In modern software engineering, containers are everywhere, from local tools running on a developer's laptop to edge devices, from on-prem data centers to the Cloud. Starting with containers, especially with Kubernetes (K8S), can be daunting, but tools have become more user-friendly and easier to manage. As the K8S ecosystem grows, the next exciting area is beyond traditional data centers and the Cloud extending to the Edge, such as retail store point-of-sale (POS) systems and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems at factory shop floors.
In this talk, we will talk about our experience of using containerized workloads, the good, the bad, and the ugly, and why we believe containers are here to stay. This talk will focus on Microsoft Azure container options, providing insight into the options available for different scenarios and use cases from the Cloud to the Edge.
What will you learn:
- The state of developer tooling for containers
- What are the benefits of using containerized workloads?
- Walkthrough of Microsoft Azure offering for containerized workloads in Cloud and Edge
